Rebeka Warrior does not come from a formal musical education. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts—“where I still studied sound and experimental music,” she notes—she has spent over twenty years building a prolific career as a singer, composer, and DJ through various collaborations, including the groups Sexy Sushi, Mansfield.TYA, and Kompromat, a duo with artist and composer Vitalic. Her work spans diverse styles and overlapping musical genres, always infused with poetry. A passionate reader, practitioner of zen, deeply sensitive to writing, fascinated by the baroque, and an expert in electro- punk, EBM, and cold wave.

Paradoxical? Not at all—especially when you listen to her productions and the way she expresses herself. Rebeka Warrior finds and sows poetry everywhere, even in psychological thrillers like Paula. “I think it’s interesting to let the composer fully pursue an idea, to allow a touch of extremity, of radicalism, so something meaningful can be said without overshadowing the story. That’s also why the exchange with the director is essential—whether they’re sure of what they want or still exploring it. Once I’ve understood what they’re looking for, I can dive in very quickly.”

She co-founded the label WARRIORECORDS in 2020. Multi-instrumentalist singer, she also mixes and produces solo on the side. Rebeka Warrior is, without a doubt, an essential figure of the French electronic scene.
